The Project

The network of Biohubs is funded by the project “BioHubs4STEP”, an inter-cluster regional initiative, sponsored by the Emilia-Romagna Region CUP E38G24000160009 ).

HOW IT
STARTED

BioHubs4STEP is supported by three Clust-ER, Clust-ER Health, Clust-ER Agrifood, and the Big Data Association to reinforce the implementation of the European STEP program and to strengthen research and development in biotechnology within the context of the Emilia-Romagna Region.

The Strategic Technologies for Europe Platform (STEP) was designed to strengthen the EU’s ability to create and ramp up strategic technologies, making it more competitive globally. It includes biotechnologies among the technologies identified as strategic for achieving the EU’s competitiveness goals, while at the same time reducing dependence on other geographical areas.

The BioHubs4STEP project is implemented in coordination and synergy with the main stakeholders in the regional innovation ecosystem through a constant dialogue.
